Midwest Chapter Leadership

The Midwest Chapter was the first chapter to be revived after the initial demise of ALJA.

The Midwest Chapter is comprised of members living in Minnesota.

Delaware Valley Chapter Leadership

The Delaware-Valley (Del-Val) Chapter is comprised of members residing in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

DC, Maryland and Virginia (DMV) Chapter Leadership

The DMV Chapter is comprised of members residing in Washington, DC., Maryland and Virginia.

New England Chapter Leadership

The New England Chapter is comprised of members residing in tri-state area.

Our mission

Foster the professional welfare of all it's members.
Abolish and guide against repressive laws that hinder freedom of speech and of the press in Liberia.
Improve the standard of professional development and competence among members and journalists in Liberia.
Foster professional growth, and capacity building for the media in Liberia.
Promote the rule of law, good governance, and civil liberties in Liberia.

The Association of Liberian Journalists (ALJA) is a non-profit 501c3 organization, established in 1988 in Washington, DC by a group of Liberian Journalists who immigrated to the United States as a consequence of the Liberian civil war. ALJA's membership consists of current and retired Liberian journalists residing in the diaspora.
